Biography

I am a lecturer at the University of Queensland Business School. I obtained my PhD from Washington University in St Louis and then served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. One focus of my research involves the dynamics of emotions within the negotiation process. I explore how emotional states shape the behavior of negotiators, both at the bargaining table and beyond. This research is driven by my goal to enhance our understanding of the negotiation process and to develop more effective strategies for conflict resolution. In addition, I study emotional intelligence, with a particular interest in its impact on various organizational processes. This includes its role in leadership and interpersonal work dynamics. My aim is to unravel the complexities of emotional intelligence and its potential to transform organizational effectiveness and productivity.
