Biography

Sara Bonesso is Associate Professor of Organization Design, Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management at the Department of Management/Venice School of Management, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (www.veniceschoolofmanagement.it), where she received her Ph.D in Management.

At Venice School of Management, she is delegate for Teacher Training and she serves as member of the Committee for the Evaluation of International Degree Seekers, member of the Research Committee, and member of the Teaching Committee of the Ph.D. program in Management.

She is one of the founder and the vice-director of the Ca’ Foscari Competency Centre, the first academic centre in Italy which carries out research activities and provides a range of services related to the assessment and the development of emotional and social competencies (www.unive.it/cfcc). As vice-director, Sara Bonesso contributed to the startup of the Centre, through the definition and implementation of the methodological approach and the related didactic tools adopted for the research and teaching activity. She designs and teaches innovative educational programs based on the intentional change theory and experiential learning. She promotes the visibility of the centre at the University through networking activity with international partners, national and local institutions, and firms.

In 2015, the didactic project of the Ca’ Foscari Competency Centre “PerFORMARE EmotivaMENTE" has been shortlisted at the Wharton-QS Stars "Reimagine Education" Awards, shortlisted project ", section "Nurturing Employability".

She has been visiting scholar at the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering and IPC (Industrial Performance Center) MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, USA) from December 2005 to May 2006. She is also Associate Editor of Frontiers in Psychology (section Organizational Psychology) and peer reviewer for some management journals.

She has been in charge of several research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Research, the European Social Fund, and local and regional institutions. Her recent research interests embrace include: women leadership, inclusive leadership, crisis leadership, leadership development, assessment and development of emotional and social competencies, the impact of behavioral competencies on entrepreneurial intent, digitalization, innovation, employability and career development.

Her research products have been presented in several international and national conferences such as EURAM (European Academy of Management), BAM (British academy of management), AOM (Academy of Management), EGOS (European Group of Organizational Studies), ICEI (International Congress of Emotional Intelligence) and ISBE (Institute for Small Business Entrepreneurship).
