BiographyChuck is CEO of Charles J. Wolfe Associates, LLC a result-driven consulting firm dedicated to improving leadership and performance. He is a speaker, consultant and author, whose expertise includes executive coaching, leadership development, talent management, culture change and team building for fortune 500 companies, military and government organizations, universities and schools. Chuck is internationally recognized as a leader and pioneer in emotional intelligence (EI). He is a member of the prestigious Consortium for Research on EI in Organizations. He is on the Advisory Board and Training Committee for the International Society of Emotional Intelligence. In 1999 he formed a strategic alliance with the pioneers in EI, Peter Salovey, President of Yale University, and Professor Jack Mayer, University of New Hampshire. Chuck co-wrote and was lead trainer for the first certification program for the MSCEIT, their unique ability based assessment of emotional intelligence. Independently he created the Emotion Roadmap, a unique methodology which helps leaders at all levels manage change, strengthen teams, and improve organization and individual performance. His speaking engagements feature topics such as “The Emotion Roadmap: Key to Successful Change Management,” “Building Organizational Trust: Key to a Culture of Engagement” and “The Emotion Roadmap for Women who wish to Lead.” His newest workshops “Getting Smart about People Skills” and “Leaders Building Trust” feature unique insights and approaches that help individuals enhance leadership and relationship skills. His speaking engagements and workshops include highlights of video interviews with award winning business leaders and key leadership strategies shared from Harvard Business School Professors and other leading thinkers who he has interviewed on his radio show “The Emotion Roadmap: Take the Wheel and Control How You Feel.” Chuck has appeared as a keynote or featured speaker for nonprofit organizations such as Harvard, Yale, MIT Sloan School, Wharton, International Society for Emotional Intelligence, and The Society for Emotional Intelligence. He has been a keynote or featured speaker, executive coach, or consultant for companies such as AIG, Allianz, Coca Cola, ESPN, Dresdner Bank, Fidelity, Foxwoods, Exxon, GE, Kaiser Permanente, Marriott, Nalco, Palomar Health, Sheraton, Viacom, and Yale New Haven Hospital. He has also consulted for pay and as a volunteer to the US Army and the US Coast Guard, state and local government, public, private schools and a Division 1 men’s college basketball team. He has done for profit and volunteer webinars and teleconferences for groups such as HCI, Corporate Training Resource, and the University of Massachusetts Program for Emerging Leaders. Primary Volunteer Efforts: Chuck has also volunteered his time and expertise to his town, religious organizations, and to A Better Chance (ABC), a program whose mission is to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. He led classes, researched and wrote cases on leadership and executive education. Exxon: While working at Exxon Chuck led efforts on a worldwide study of best practices in leadership development. The results were incorporated into practice. Hartford Insurance: As Director of Leadership Development Chuck worked with executives to develop a state of the art leadership curriculum. He also partnered with Harvard Professors to lead team building for Hartford’s CEO.
